Hi, I am Dennis! I am a second year PhD student at UT Dallas. My interest lies in using cognitive psychology, neuroscience and statistics to understand the connection between brain and human behavior. I employ a variety of techniques in my research: surveys, interviews, MRI, A/B testing, and advance statistics (GLM, ANOVA, Regression Modeling, PCA, etc) to connect the relationship between human behavior and cognition. My main goal is to apply research in solving real life problems and creating a positive impact in society. You can find my resume on this link.
I am passionate in helping those in underrepresented groups. My previous work has been working with children and adults with learning disabilities.
In my previous role as a project manager, I collaborated with clinicians, programmers, and research scientists on a project analyzing how a genetic learning disability, like dyslexia, affect literacy skills. We recruited different families (IVF, surrogacy, natural) and employed a variety of research techniques (MRI, interviews, standardized testing, A/B testing) to investigate our topic interest. The main goal is to understand which brain regions are related to dyslexia, and why these particular regions.
My current role as a PhD student is to analyze language and social skills in children with and without risk for autism. My main objective is to help researchers detect the early biomarkers for autism and develop possible early interventions. You can learn more about my collaboraters here and here.
Ultimately, my goal is to help people achieve their full potential in their skillsets.
